    can do for you

  • Know what to eat to feel good

  • Practice exercises especially designed for you
  • Learn how to maintain emotional balance

Keren Smedley

This workshop is facilitated by Keren Smedley, director of Experience Matters Ltd, a leading life coach and author of bestsellers 'Who's That Woman In The Mirror?' The Art of Ageing Gracefully and 'Age Matters' Employing, Motivating and Managing Older Employees.

Our taster sessions will be offered by:

Gene DickerGene Dicker who jointly owns and runs The Iyengar Yoga Studio in North London. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and member of the Iyengar Teachers' Association (UK). In this taster session she will cover some of the basic standing poses which when practised regularly will increase your strength, stability and stamina.  The session will be aimed at the over 50s and their particular needs.

Howard Evans Howard Evans who has been working professionally as a masseur and bodyworker since 1992. He offers Thai Massage, Esalen style massage and craniosacral therapy. Regardless of the technique employed you will benefit from a quality of touch, attention and presence developed over many years of practice, study and teaching.

This workshop will involve a brief explanation of the craniosacral concept of inherent health and its relationship with the forming of our body.  This will be followed by a guided journey away from our beliefs about our body and health and towards the constant presence of inherent health with us all.

Mina HaeriMina Haeri who is a classically trained acupuncturist with over 15 years experience.   She is particularly interested in the use of acupuncture to facilitate transition through life's major gateways.  Puberty, pregnancy and the menopause are times when our bodies, mind and spirit are undergoing major shifts.  Acupuncture can be used to aid this transition and ensure that we enter our next life phase in a balanced and healthy way.

Mina will be giving an auricular acupuncture session and introductory talk.  The acupuncture taster session will introduce you to the relaxation benefits of treatment.   She will outline how acupuncture can be used to address physical symptoms - such as hot flushes, insomnia, palpitations and weak bladder function, as well as emotional symptoms such as depression, anxiety and general malaise.  There will be an opportunity to ask questions and discover how this unique treatment might be able to help you live your life more fully.

What participants have said about previous workshops

What a great opportunity this has been to have a taster of a number of different ways to keep fit. I was really taken with the yoga. I am going to find a local class.
Jackie - London

I came because I know I am unhealthy, haven't been able to do anything about it and felt less daunted as I knew there wouldn't be 20 yr olds with perfect bodies. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it. I've had a great day I have been amazed how useful it has been, the main reason being is no one told me off and told me to do x or y. You gave me ideas and choices and I will take these up. If not I'll be back!.
Sue - London
