SPRING NEWS SEE OUR WORKSHOPS AND COURSES FOR 2010 |
|
| Dear All, Spring is here at last and for many of us that means an internal as well as an external spring clean. It's certainly what we've been doing at Experience Matters. We're delighted with the interest we're having from you. We've been approached by a number people who are under 50, so we've decided to open up our workshops to the 45 plus. It seems that this is the time when many of you are reassuring yourselves and wondering what to do next. There has been a lot of news coverage recently of the difficulties of finding work as we get older and that it is getting harder. We wouldn't dispute the facts. However, what we do know is that if you approach anything with a positive outlook it does help. Easier said than done I know. It's for this reason that we've decided to put on an evening session to help us make our age and experience work for us rather than against.'Make your age work for you' on May 5th. Come and join us! There will be an opportunity for you to chat to others and network, have a drink and a nibble and find new ways to feel good about yourself, your age and feel revitalised to overcome any challenges that come your way http://www.experiencematters.org.uk/workshop_makeyourage.php We've also developed a new 2-day certified career development course to help you to find a new job or apply for a volunteer position. It may have been a while since you applied for a job and things have changed. This course will equip you with all the knowledge and skills to ensure you get an interview and practice so you feel confident to answer any question thrown at you. The course will be limited to 12 so you get enough time to really prepare, so book early! You can combine this course with another 2-days: Looking Good and Feeling Confident, and Health and Wellbeing and receive our certificate in career and personal development. Each of the modules can also be taken separately. For all other workshops and courses please take a look at http://www.experiencematters.org.uk/index.php We are delighted to say that we've been joined by two new coaches. Sue Donnelly who is the past president of International Federation of Image Consultants and she is here to offer you information and advice on your image and to help you dress in a way that enhances any part of you. Take a look at our coaching page for more details and how to book. Penelope Young is an international coach and is now focusing on the issues that affect the sixty plus. Each of these decades bring something new. We're clear that unlike the statutory services that lumps us all together from 50 - 100, that we need to offer different things for different ages as we all have such different needs. I am often asked to write articles for both national papers and women's magazines. I've added a new section to the home page. 'Call for case studies'. Please keep an eye on this and if you fit any of the categories please get in touch. Also if you think there is a topic that should be written about please drop me a line. You can send in your questions and dilemmas which will be answered by me, on-line. Or join our forum to discuss with others. You can book a personal coaching session with me in person, on the telephone or by email. I look forward to seeing you very soon. Best wishes Keren |
