David Cameron is facing a Tory rebellion over the High Speed Rail Link to Birmingham announced on Tuesday from a rather unexpected source. Not only is he busy dealing with local politicians and cabinet ministers....his own father-in-law has now spoken out against the plans. The Conservative peer Lord Astor says the plan is largely supported by "Northern Labour MPs who relish the thought of the beauty of the Chilterns being destroyed" - and the scheme was a "pooh trap" for ministers who loved grand projects.

He's not the first PM to suffer such problems - Tony Blair's father-in-law famously claimed that the 2003 war in Iraq was "all about oil" - somewhat contrary to the official position.

Keren talks to Jane on Woman's Hour to discuss the tensions between siblins and how to resolve them It's more often than not life's longest relationship - you may simultaneously love and loathe them, but you can never divorce them - siblings. In the nineteenth century, the 'long family' was the norm, with multiple siblings growing up together in very close quarters. The decline of this family structure at the beginning of the twentieth century altered the nature of our sibling relationships and heralded the beginning of the 'vertically extended' family. Jane talks to Professor Leonore Davidoff from Essex University, about the hitherto neglected history of brothers and sisters and is joined by counsellor Keren Smedley to discuss the tensions between siblings and how to resolve them;

So how significant is a name. Would you consider changing yours? Four thousand more of us changed our name by deed poll last year than the year before.
How do you tackle a problem like truancy and get to the reasons beneath? Parents whose children play truant from school should be supported not penalised according to a charity for families.
