Read an excerpt from the book

Society would have us believe that nobody over 50 is having sex.
Here is the book that comes to break that taboo. By asking the questions people have previously not dared to ask it will dispel the out-dated myths and confusions we all have about sex and relationships. This is the bible for reclaiming and embracing the emotional and sexual potential for this stage of life.

Being over 50 is, thankfully, not what it used to be: it does not mean giving up on sex and love. And the baby boomers – heirs to the sexual revolution of the sixties – approach sex and relationships in a very different way to previous generations, continuing to want to be vital and sexual and encountering new options and new problems.

Keren has been asked every question you could imagine – and some you couldn't – about the relationship issues of today's baby boomer. Among them…

•    When we were young, my partner and I had a very varied sex life. We now seem to be having difficulties, probably age-related. Does it have to be like this?
•    I am in my fifties and am seeing a woman who up until now has been heterosexual. Friends are warning me she may just be experimenting with me. What do I do?
•    I raised my children as a single-mother and have recently moved in with my first real partner. My children are not reacting well to this, must I choose between their happiness and my own?

Keren addresses all of these topics and more, wisely and wittily. Using a foundation of genuinely empathetic and psychologically probing principles she compliments this with plenty of self tests and charts to help clarify and define key issues.
Like an extended problem page this book will engage and inform both those who wish to tackle problems in their own lives, and those who simply wish to be entertained by the rich variety of life.

Reader's review
' ...I went out and bought your book yesterday - fantastic - just love it. I didn't get much sleep last night, as my mind was asking myself all sorts of questions in relation to the various exercises in the book.  Thanks for the interesting way you have compiled the chapters - easy to browse through and get straight to the point!'

Whos That Woman In The Mirror by Keren Smedley

WHO'S THAT WOMAN IN THE MIRROR?
The Art of Ageing Gracefully

"Age is irrelevant, unless you happen to be a
bottle of wine"

In this hugely practical but always entertaining guide to life, Keren Smedley argues passionately against outdated stereotypes about age, and helps people change their belief and attitude to ageing.

Paperback

As a professional life coach she has been asked every kind of question you could imagine about the uncertainties and problems facing people in later life. Whether the subject is sexuality, money, relationships, health, friends, planning for the future, you will be as impressed by the wisdom of the answers as by the variety of the questions. Like an extended problem page for baby boomers, this book will inform as it fascinates.

Recognise any of the following?

Q: I looked in the bathroom mirror this morning and an old woman stared back. When did this happen and how can I get rid of her?

Q: My husband spends so much time in front of the TV, I'm thinking of having him certified clinically dead. How can I make him notice me again?

Q: My mother's turned into a helpless child. My children have turned into my harshest critics. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Help!

Over 50? Feeling unloved, invisible, worried and nowhere to turn for advice? Look no further! Coach, counsellor, internet and radio agony aunt Keren Smedley has the answers.

For a cool appraisal of: -

how to look your best
how to re-acquire your self-esteem
how to juggle the demands of parents, partners, children, career, a successful sex life and still find time left over for fun

Whos That Woman In The Mirror by Keren Smedley

In unfussy, jargon-free language, this is the book for you.
A problem shared really is a problem solved.
